How do you compare chassis surface treatments for durability?
A colour line on a cover quote has not written wear. Durability here is how the outer lid holds up when it is rubbed, not how it looks in a photo.
Three process names can sit on that lid. Sand-blast or shot-blast throws abrasive grit or shot at the metal to raise a texture before any coating. Anodic oxidation — anodizing — grows an oxide on aluminium. Ordinary organic paint is a sprayed film. Ask which of those is actually on the part. Then ask a named abrasion method, or a physical sample under the same rub.
A repair shop ranking two SKUs — stock-keeping units, one sellable revision each — by which PDF looks more matte is not asking how the finish wears. The method below names the extra cells. A quote that invents Taber Abraser cycles — a rotating-wheel abrasion count — a milligram loss, or a fingerprint-resistance percentage has not written those cells.
Why does a colour or gloss line not settle durability?
It leaves the process and the rub unread. Colour and gloss name how the lid looks. Does ordinary spray paint write abrasion?
