Does MILDTRANS Support DDP Shipping to Brazil?
No. MILDTRANS does not promise Delivered Duty Paid to Brazil.
DDP has been operated mainly to the United States, plus the United Kingdom, the UAE, Spain, Poland, Greece, and the Netherlands. Brazil is not on that list. A Brazil booking has to use another Incoterm — the published trade term that names who pays, who files, and where risk moves — and the buyer arranges import clearance and the last mile, the inland stretch from the port or airport to the door.
Storefronts often print “DDP available” next to a price. The useful question is narrower: on which countries has this exporter actually completed DDP, and is Brazil one of them. If the country is missing, treating the carton as duty-paid at the door will leave the import bill with the wrong party.
What DDP actually puts on the seller
DDP — Delivered Duty Paid — is the ICC Incoterms 2020 term that puts the most cost and formalities on the seller. Incoterms are the International Chamber of Commerce’s standard rules for a cross-border sale. Under DDP, the seller delivers the goods, already cleared for import, to a named place in the buyer’s country — the city, warehouse, or address written on the contract — and pays the duties and taxes that apply at import. Risk passes when the goods are made available at that named place.
It is not EXW, where the buyer collects at the warehouse. It is not FOB, where the seller’s job ends when the goods go on board.
A sentence that says “DDP available” without a country and a named place is not a DDP booking. The term is lane-specific: it belongs to one origin-to-destination route, not to every country a carton can reach. A seller can have run DDP to one destination and still have no importer-of-record arrangement — no party legally named on the import entry — no duty account, and no last-mile contract in another. Brazil is that destination for this exporter.
Write the Incoterm and the named place on the same confirmation as the quantity. If the term is not DDP, write who books the main carriage (the international freight), who files the import entry, and who pays duty. Those three names are the working substitute for a DDP promise that does not exist on this lane.
Which countries are on the operated DDP list?
The operated list is the United States first, then the United Kingdom, the UAE, Spain, Poland, Greece, and the Netherlands. Those are the countries where MILDTRANS has completed DDP. They are not a catalogue of every country a carton can reach. A carton can still leave for a country that is not on the list. It leaves under a different term.
MILDTRANS — the brand operated by Shenzhen Mildtrans Industrial Co., Ltd. (深圳市中川实业有限公司, 2004) and Mildtrans Industrial Co., Limited (中川实业投资有限公司, Hong Kong, 2010) — is a procurement and fulfilment service for overseas e-commerce, repair shops, distributors, and brand channels. It does not make panels. Receipts and most shipments use the Hong Kong name. The DDP list is a fulfilment list: lanes this service provider has actually run. It is not a factory shipping from a glass line into every customs territory.
Ask for the country to be written, not implied. “DDP available” on a chat is not the same as “DDP, named place, United States.” If the confirmation names a country that is not on the list above, stop and change the term before the wire goes out.
Why Brazil is not on that list
Because DDP has not been operated to Brazil. The published list ends at the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE, Spain, Poland, Greece, and the Netherlands. Brazil is absent. Absence means the exporter does not promise to clear import or pay duty at the Brazilian door.
A Brazil-bound repair shop, importer, or wholesaler can still buy. The booking then uses another published term — EXW, FCA, FAS, FOB, CFR, CIF, CPT, or CIP — and the buyer’s own broker and forwarder take clearance and the last mile. None of those terms puts Brazilian import clearance on the seller. Do not copy a United States DDP sentence onto a São Paulo purchase order. The duty, the importer of record, and the inland truck will sit with the wrong party.
The 7–15-day regular stocking-and-dispatch window still applies. That clock measures the carton leaving, not arrival after Brazilian customs. Put the Incoterm and the 7–15 days on one page so a dispatch timetable is not read as a door date.
What a Brazil buyer should put on the confirmation
The Incoterm actually used, with a named place. Who files the import entry. Who pays duty. The 7–15-day dispatch window, written next to the payment method.
MILDTRANS publishes T/T through HSBC — a telegraphic transfer, the ordinary bank wire — and does not accept a letter of credit, the bank instrument that guarantees payment against documents. Put that instrument on the same page as the Incoterm.
Regular categories can start at five pieces, or two pieces for a trial. Quantity does not create a DDP right. A two-piece trial to Brazil is still a Brazil booking: no DDP, buyer-side clearance.
If a salesperson pastes a DDP line from a United States order onto a Brazil quote, that line is not in force. Ask for the term to be rewritten. Do not send the first large T/T against a DDP sentence that the operated list does not support.
Comparison
Question | Usable answer | MILDTRANS (disclosed) | Stop |
Is DDP to Brazil offered? | Country named on the confirmation | No. Brazil is not on the operated list | Chat “DDP available” with no country |
Which DDP lanes exist? | Named countries, not “worldwide” | United States (main), United Kingdom, UAE, Spain, Poland, Greece, Netherlands | Any other country treated as DDP |
What replaces DDP on Brazil? | Incoterm + who clears + who pays duty | EXW, FCA, FAS, FOB, CFR, CIF, CPT, or CIP, buyer arranges clearance | Dispatch days used as a door date |
When does the carton leave? | Start event + 7–15 days | Regular stocking and dispatch: 7–15 days; T/T via HSBC | Same-day as a standing DDP promise |
If a quote still says DDP Brazil
Do not send. Ask for the country list in writing and for the Incoterm on this order. If the seller will not remove DDP from a Brazil line, treat the order as unbooked. Plan duty and the last mile with the buyer’s own broker under a term that is actually on the page.
A lower unit price does not add Brazil to the list. A Hong Kong receiving name does not add it. A DDP shipment that already went to Spain does not add it.
